
My school, PRP, is having a Spring Musical. I auditioned on January 4th and the cast was announced on January 8th. My monologue was from School for Scandal, the scene in which Ms. Candour complains about talebearers and talemakers while spreading a plethora of tales at the same time.
I had mostly forgotten about the audition over Winter Break. I was quite sure it was soon and that I would be participating, but the exact date hadn't quite set in until the day before. I was in quite the panick when I realized I had neither a song nor a monologue to perform. I quickly grabbed a book of monologues that my father had conveniently bought for me and flipped through it for something humorous, yet

I quickly grabbed a book of monologues that my father had conveniently bought for me and flipped through it for something humorous, yet
short enough for me to memorize on the way to school. I then spent the whole muttering it tomyself and then after school, since a few loud friends refused to let Samantha and me practice, I spent 30 minutes to and hour after school in the bathroom talking to myself. It all worked out alright in the end though. I got the minor part of 'The Steward', but I am very content with that. I know some really good singers that didn't get in and the fact that I did really gives me a glimmer of hope for perhaps a small acting career in the future.
